Terms of Use

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of Kanzi. By downloading or using Kanzi, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to an iOS download unless custom terms validly replace it. These supplemental Terms do not reduce rights you have under mandatory consumer law or the applicable app store terms.

2. Eligibility and audience

You must be legally able to accept these Terms. If you are below the age of legal majority, a parent or guardian must approve your use. Kanzi is a general-audience game and is not directed to children below the minimum digital-consent age.

3. License

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Kanzi on devices you own or control as permitted by the store rules. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer where prohibited, interfere with security or reward verification, automate false ad completions, or use Kanzi or its content to violate law or another person's rights.

4. Content and educational context

Kanzi contains generated editorial illustrations and short educational stories about places, landscapes, crafts and cultural traditions. Illustrations are interpretive and are not documentary photographs. We work to review the content, but Kanzi is not an academic, historical, travel, safety or professional advice service. Contact us to report a factual, cultural or attribution concern.

Kanzi, its software, original text, interface, marks and licensed/generated assets are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership to you.

5. Free features and virtual rewards

Some puzzles are free. Beads and other in-app rewards have no cash value, are not transferable, cannot be redeemed outside Kanzi and may be balanced or discontinued, subject to applicable law. Free players may see interstitial ads at the natural board transitions described in the Privacy Policy. Optional rewarded ads may offer beads or another clearly described in-app benefit. A reward is granted only after successful completion and verification; closing a rewarded ad early grants nothing.

8. Availability and changes

We may fix, update, rebalance or discontinue features and content. We do not promise that every feature, puzzle or advertisement will always be available. Advertisements, newly released OTA puzzle downloads, legal pages and support require network access. Puzzles included in the app and OTA puzzles already downloaded to the device are designed to work offline, subject to operating-system cache management.

9. Acceptable use

Do not tamper with the app, local saves, ad callbacks or server-side reward verification; exploit defects for unauthorized access; distribute malware; interfere with other services; or use Kanzi content commercially without permission. We may restrict affected functionality where reasonably necessary to protect the app, users, providers or legal rights.

10. Third-party services

Kanzi relies on Apple or Google for distribution, Google AdMob for automatic interstitial and optional rewarded ads, Google Firebase for analytics, diagnostics and operational configuration, and Firebase Hosting for legal pages and OTA puzzle content. Their terms and policies may also apply. We are not responsible for third-party services beyond the extent required by applicable law.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kanzi is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties not expressly stated in these Terms. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes statutory warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bencode Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, loss of data or loss of profits arising from Kanzi. These limits do not apply where law prohibits them, including liability that cannot be excluded for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts with jurisdiction in the District of Columbia will hear disputes, except where the mandatory law of your place of residence gives you the right to use another court or applicable dispute process. Before filing a claim, you and we should first try to resolve it by contacting the support address below. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights or access to a regulator or small-claims process where applicable.

14. Termination

You may stop using Kanzi at any time. We may terminate the license for a material breach, subject to applicable law. Provisions that by their nature should survive—such as intellectual property, disclaimers and liability limits—continue after termination.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms for legal, security or product reasons. We will post the effective date and provide additional notice or obtain consent where required. Material changes do not retroactively remove mandatory consumer rights.
